EducationofPhilippines
A Major Discourse of Philippine Government Part1
They call the Philippine Islands as the Pearl of the Orient. A republic born out of the desire of many to gain freedom. Many unsung heroes had shed their blood for this sacred democracy. Yet, the battle for democracy is still the cry of every single Filipino drifting in an Island of unused, untapped but abused democracy.
We begin to view the ideal government that is due for man. A government that will safeguard the inalienable rights of man as its primary duty both to the people and to God. A government that will give ample aid to its govern to produce a citizenry that is strong and productive. A government that will not close their eyes upon reaching the soil of real sacrifice of the common people.
All these, in one way or another, the Republic of the PHILIPPINES FAILED TO DO SO.
Let us review the annals of history to recapitulate the actions of the government.
1. Educational advancement of the people has long been ailing and will die so soon. The promise of better educational system continue to frustrate the common people. Better places of study; better mentors of the study; better facilities for the study; better materials to study - all these became a sordid promise of this candid education of the country.
You can find in the simple barios the problem of all these mentioned facets of learning. The real struggle was proved too be a failure because the government failed to secure the country's armament for the future. Little ones do not know how to study well and they will surely stumble when they reach the age of service. What work entails an elementary graduate but hard job among construction or he will be a waste drug addict. Better yet, what a big lost it is for high school graduates who cannot find a job because they lack the learning values necessary for better jobs.
The educational body of the country has been voicing out, inviting students to pursue college education for a better job in the future. But of the thousands of college turn outs, many of them became unprofitable investment. They don't have the real knowledge to learn real life jobs where they can be used.
Moreover, educational system of the Philippines is as rotten as people in the service. You can find total discrimination among rich and the poor. You cannot enter better schools with equipped educational facilities if you don't have the money. It is a sad fact among Filipinos. To say, only those poor brained rich kids can have a chance to learn with the best facilities and better mentors.
While out there, the poor guys would languish over the sad realities that even their teachers cannot understand the taught subject. There they are suffering from the problems of materials and facilities. You can find Biology students without the laboratory equipments to learn.
Where is now the promise of education in this country? Has the government fulfilled its duties and responsibilities? When will see every young boys and young girls going to a school that can truly shape their future? If this Republic wish for a better place in the world arena, it should educate its vast human resources to the full!
